Frequently asked questions

Straight answers about how our candy is designed, how inquiries work, and what we can and cannot tell you without checking first.

What makes these candies visually distinctive?

Each design is built around a color and pattern plan rather than a single flavor color. Swirls, ribbon bands, jewel drops and mosaic faces are assembled by hand, so the pattern lives inside the candy itself instead of sitting on the surface as a coating or a print. Turn a piece in the light and the design changes.

How are the candy designs developed?

A design starts as a color study and a sketch. We test the palette in translucent candy, where contrast is much harder than on paper, then work out how the pattern will be built — pulled spirals, layered ribbons, or a mosaic of small pieces fused together.

Test batches come next, and most ideas change at least once at that stage. You can read the longer version on the Our Craft page.

Can I request a specific design?

Yes. You can ask for any design in the collection, a mix of several, or something new. Describe the colors, the occasion and roughly how many pieces you need, and we will tell you what is realistic for your date before you commit to anything.

We do not reproduce trademarks, logos or artwork you do not own or have permission to use.

How do I submit an inquiry?

Use the inquiry form: select the candy you are interested in, add your contact details and a message describing what you need. If you prefer, you can call (605) 894-6514 or email info@qavento-house.shop.

How can I obtain ingredient and allergen information?

Ask us directly, and ask early — before the event, not after. We will share current, verified ingredient and allergen information for the specific candy you are considering, so you can decide whether it suits your needs.

We do not describe any of our candy as allergen-free, and we do not claim it is suitable for any particular dietary restriction without verifying it for that product.

Are all designs available at all times?

No. Availability depends on production capacity, the season and the size of the run — some designs are easier to make in quantity than others. We confirm availability for your specific dates in our written reply, and we would rather tell you a design is not possible right now than take an order we cannot fill well.

How should hard candies be stored?

Cool, dry and sealed is the short answer. Keep hard candy out of direct sunlight and away from strong smells — sugar absorbs the scent of whatever sits next to it. Warm or humid spots soften the surface and dull the pattern, so a closed tin in a cupboard is better than an open bowl near a stove or a sunny window.

What information is needed for a custom request?

Helpful things to include:

  • The occasion and the date you are working toward.
  • Roughly how many pieces or boxes you need.
  • The colors, designs or reference images you like.
  • How the candy will be presented — boxed, bagged, loose in a bowl, given individually.
  • Any dietary or allergen information you need before you decide.
  • Whether you need documentation for a venue, school or employer.
How are pricing and availability confirmed?

In a separate written reply to your inquiry. We do not publish prices on this website, because a per-piece price depends on the design, the quantity, the packaging and the timing. Nothing on this site is an offer or a quotation.

What happens after I submit the form?

Your inquiry is delivered to our business inbox and reviewed by a person. You will receive a separate reply with the information you requested. An inquiry is not an order until you have confirmed the written details with us — please do not treat the confirmation page as acceptance of an order.

Still unsure about something? Ask it in the form. Questions about allergens, lead time and packaging are answered individually, and a specific question usually gets a more useful answer than a general one.
